Jan is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in clinical counseling, career coaching and executive/leadership development.
She holds two Masters Degrees in education and counseling. Jan completed an internship at Green Oaks psychiatric hospital in Dallas, Texas where she worked with all levels of patient care. Following her internship, she was invited to be a full time therapist and counseled adolescents, adults, chemical dependency and intensive care patients. Her psychiatric work included one on one sessions, family and group sessions.
Realizing that many psychological stressors originated in unhappiness in one’s career choice, she began focusing on career counseling. For over 20 years she has specialized in career transition, executive coaching, and leadership development. Jan has successfully coached/counseled thousands of clients both domestically and internationally.
As a Career Consultant she has expertise partnering with diverse groups of clients to assist them in achieving their career goals. She has provided individualized consulting to clients in Fortune 500 firms in telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and information technology. Her client base also includes non-profit organizations. Clients have ranged from entry level to C-Suite executives.
Previous business acumen in marketing and sales combined with a depth of career counseling experience has greatly enriched her executive coaching skills. She has worked with both national and regional companies coaching executives as they make critical decisions regarding their organizations and their own career paths. By using customized assessments of leadership skills and strengths she effectively partners with executives to provide strategic career direction.
Her highly accomplished technical skills are used to deliver online seminars and technical training to clients. Previous university teaching experience has afforded her the opportunity to design and develop training materials. She has custom designed career transition seminars to provide solutions for unique outplacement needs.
